The ultimate sacrifice of Brooklyn patriots was recalled during a memorial service presented by Corrigan-Kiernan Memorial Post 8160 in Windsor Terrace.

The solemn salute drew community-wide officers and members to the post base at 1265 Prospect Avenue, where they remembered American war heroes with a pomp-filled program of commemoration, featuring a gun salute the playing of Taps.

The occasion also marked the post’s 62nd anniversary and the eight anniversary of the post’s Ladies Auxiliary unit.
