The Wounded Warrior Project’s “Soldier Ride to Bring Awareness,” will be coming to Brooklyn, July 23 at 2 p.m., where the soldiers will be welcomed and cheered during a block party in front of the Villabate−Alba Pastry Shop, 7001 70th Street and 18th Avenue.

Sponsored by the Brooklyn Key Chapter of Ex−Prisoners of War and the Villabate−Alba Pastry Shop, the Wounded Warriors — soldiers injured in the line of duty, many of whom wear prostheses — will be participating in the 25−mile ride, which kicks off from Macy’s in Herald Square, on bicycles especially made for them.

During the final leg of the ride, bikers from Rolling Thunder 2 NY will participate in the “Escort of Heroes to the Finish Line.” There is a suggested $10 admission charge to cover the cost of food and refreshments.

Please RSVP by July 13. Even if you are not in the race, everyone is encouraged to come outside, wave American flags and make lots of noise in support of these American heroes.
