A Brooklyn Good Samaritan, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, was immortalized by his peers at Station 43 when they teamed up with local Bravest to dedicate a plaque in memory of late Paramedic Greg “Fozzy Bear” Serena at the Coney Island depot where he worked.
The selfless rescue worker, whose shaggy hair and full beard earned him the nickname of the popular muppet, was remembered in front of family and friends as being a “kind person [who] embraced life, family, work, friends and his music,” during a poignant ceremony at the station, 2601 Ocean Parkway.
