A distinguished crop of local notables was hailed for its support of the Canarsie community during an awards ceremony, presented by Association of Informed Voices.
The plaudits marked the group’s ninth annual tribute at Holy Family School, 9719 Flatlands Avenue.
The honorees were: Dr. Chenna Reddy and St. Jude Medical Center, “Business Partnership”; New York City Public Advocate challenger Mark Green, “Gift of Hope”; Councilmember Lew Fidler, “Community Action”; and Rev. Matteo J. Rizzo, St. Francis of Paola Parish, 219 Conselyea Street, “Man of the Year.”
