As American as apple pie and Bay Ridge
Residents flock to Fourth of July picnic celebrations at 83rd Street Field.
Borough patriots showed their true colors by assembling on the green in a sea of red, white and blue to mark the nation’s 233rd Independence Day with a community cook−out at the 83rd Street Field.
The Second Annual Greater Bay Ridge 4th of July Picnic drew families, neighbors, grassroots groups and elected officials at the local lawn, off Shore Road, to trumpet their national pride with a day of special attractions and activities.
While live bands serenaded the happy hordes – among them, Frankie Marra & His Band, The Ridge, and John Lepore & The Silver Falcons – revelers sampled a variety of summer fare and participated in games, contests and other crowd−pleasing events.
