The Throggs Neck Benevolent Association’s annual five-kilometer Turkey Trot will take place on Saturday, November 21 at Orchard Beach.

The race is held every year in memory of former Throgs Neck Benevolent Association (TNBA) member Geraldine Crowley-Crorkin and raises money for the TNBA’s yearlong mission of helping those less fortunate.

“We raise money through the Turkey Trot for people in the community who are in need,” said Chris Dalton of the TNBA.

The 3.1-mile run/walk follows the boardwalk at Orchard Beach. Registration the day of the Trot will be $35. For that fee you get a T-shirt and can attend the post-Trot party. The check-in and start of the Trot will be near the Orchard Beach food court and the route will be provided the day of the race.

The post-Trot party will be held at The Wicked Wolf at 3718 E. Tremont Avenue. For those planning on only attending the post Trot party, the cost will be $20.

Applications are available at bars and restaurants on E. Tremont Avenue in Throggs Neck. The TNBA can be reached at (718) 931-7749. Details can also be found on the TNBA’s blog on Facebook.
