MASPETH — A UPS worker from Brooklyn evidently forgot his company has lots of experience tracking items. He was charged with petit larceny after a UPS security officer caught him with a stolen cell phone, the Queens DA said.

The security officer determined that the T-Mobile cell phone had been missing from the company warehouse since Jan. 12, the DA said. The officer contacted the cell phone provider and learned the address the phone was listed to was the home of Dayquan Irwin, a 21-year-old truck loader at the warehouse, the DA’s office said.

The security officer located the phone in Irwin’s locker and Irwin owned up to the crime, the DA said.

Irwin was arraigned Jan. 20 and released on his own recognizance.
